A loud rattle coming from the engine bay ctr 2002?

When idle there is a rattle coming from the engine bay, if i put the clutch down the rattle stops, also when driving in gear 2 the rattle is very loud, but you cant realy hear the rattle in any other gear. I know theres not much info but little help please!! knowing my luck it will be exspensive!! Any 1 have any ideas or experiences of this, I had a new clutch at the start of the year, so cant imagine it will be the clutch release bearing!! Ctr 2002, 69000, had reconditioned replacement engine at the start of the year, might be irrelevant!!
