I know US lodges only accepts citizens to freemasonry. does anyone here know Gen Douglas McArthur?

He was accepted to freemasonry in Manila, city of the Philippines. I mean im an immigrant here in the US and i want to join masonry, what does it take for me to join lodges here in the US with going back to my country of origin (that would be an expensive initiation.)?
