What is kerogen? i cant find it anywhere?

I am a geologist and have worked extensively with oilshale. The answer is definitely e. Kerogen is the reason oil shale is so valuable, when it is retorted (heated) it produces various kinds of hydrocarbons. The oil shale in Colorado can produce diesel so pure you could practically put it right in your tank.
